Theatre Coppell presents the play based on the writings of Jean Shepherd, adapted by Philip Grecian. Ralphie Parker wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. He pleads his case before everyone, including Santa Claus himself, but the consistent response is, “You’ll shoot your eye out!” All the elements of the classic movie are here: an exploding furnace; the school bully; a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Orphan Annie decoder pin & Ralphie’s father’s prized lamp shaped like a woman’s leg.
