Savor Dallas, An International Experience of Wine, Food, Spirits and the Arts, returns for the sixth annual celebration of downtown and the Arts District on March 5-6. The weekend includes over 50 of DFW’s top chefs serving samples of their cuisine, and over 400 premium wines, spirits and imported beers, served in beautiful settings including the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Meyerson Symphony Center and Seventeen Seventeen at the Dallas Museum of Art.

Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot Run or Walk 2009

Planning a Halloween Party in the Dallas Metroplex?

The worldly popular board game combined with the cult classic film to make “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas Monopoly Board Game.” USAopoly has released 
this game under a license from Hasbro and gives players the excitement of the original Monopoly with a complete scary and ghoulish look, with color-rich images from the Nightmare Before Christmas.
The ever so evil Scary Teddy has replaced puppy dog tokens. Do not bother with the thimble either because the Zombie Duck has taken its place. The are six scary collectible pewter tokens that come with this collector?s edition of the game.
As you start the game be on our toes, roll a four and Mr. Ooogie Boogie will be there to collect $200 for your gambling losses! Dodged that did you? Ok go ahead and buy a piece of Halloween Town, such as “Hanging Tree Hangout” or “Undersea Gal’s Lake.”
Do not plan to ride the Reading Railroad as well. If you land on what were the railroad squares you can buy the entrance door to Christmas Town or Easter Town. There is still the “Go to Jail” option, which has not changed, and if you land there, you will not have the opportunity to own one of the two blue squares, which are named Jack’s Tower’ or Sally’s Alley.
All the properties are named after special locations in Halloweentown. Buy enough properties and you can start to take over the game, buy presents to put on your properties and eventually build assembly lines and become the Pumpkin King of Halloweentown.
Just don’t spend too much property and presents, if you land on the “Christmas Present” or Halloween Present” squares you might be forking out your bucks on repairs for a broken microscope, Community Chest and Chance may have a new name but they can still cost dearly.
If you adore Jack Skellington, then you will particularly enjoy the Jack money. Each note features one of Jack’s many scary faces.
Want everyone at your party to play, but think Monopoly takes too long to complete? Have a go at the 60-minute speed game! Up to six ghosts or goblins can play at one time. Include your ghoulish kids as long as they are at least eight years old.
